Director Spiro Skiadopoulos was contacted by an investor keen to work with him to undertake a development project in Melbourne’s leafy eastern suburbs. They agreed to partner to develop a block of land into two standalone houses and began a search for the right opportunity.


An older style home on a corner block in the suburb of Ashburton came onto the market. After assessing its growth potential, the partners agreed it was an attractive opportunity and purchased the property at auction. From here, they interviewed architects, planners and builders and began to create a scrapbook of design ideas, floor plans, fittings and finishes.     


After seeking quotes from multiple builders, they awarded the build contract and works commenced when. The existing home was demolished and the block was excavated to allow the construction of two contemporary triple-storey townhouses. 


Spiro oversaw the project from start to end and construction was the whole process was documented and filmed for the popular Build me a Home series on channel 72
